The other favorite bite for Lisa and me (that she turned me onto) is a bit of a longer trip to Bombay Brazier (about 20 mins north of us – link in my restaurant page) for their awesome everything! No more Baba India takeout for me, it’s good, but this is SO much better!  It’s owned by a really cool (and nice) husband and wife team (Rip and “G”) and probably some of the best indian food I’ve had (maybe even rivaling the famous Tamarind in NYC (also on my restaurant page – and yes, I really did meet and speak to Richard Gere there! I was with Hillary Swank – who knew him! we chatted – but I digress). Back to Bombay Brazier – everything is great and I’ve tried the lamb chop appetizer (spicy!) the chicken afghani (so good, I even eat green peppers in this), the Roti (flatbread – we’ve come to prefer this to naan), the naan, the Chicken Tikka Masala and of course my favorite – Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)!  The first time I ordered the latter, I learned that I’ve been pronouncing it incorrectly all of these years!  I said “I’ll have the Chicken MaKHANi please, to which G replied “you would like the Chicken MAKhani”? I stood corrected!  The dishes I’ve tried are all SUPER yummy!!  I need to try more things but am usually in withdrawal from the faves by the time we go there!   Definitely try them!  I just checked and they are doing carryout.

So, not having had any restaurant food in over 2 months, (and with Lisa sheltering in AZ), I decided to make my own Chicken Makhani Sunday night.  This was not my first rodeo, as I’ve made it several times, the first being when I hosted a book club evening after reading Eat, Pray, Love – and made food from Italy, India and Indonesia – this was my Indian dish – which was pronounced that night by Terri B – better than she’d had in any indian restaurant!    Sunday’s version did not disappoint – you know the word….. YUM!  and, of course, shared!

Served over basmati rice – and A Bite 🙂

Everything seems to be working.  This looks great.  Let’s put this on the list for when we get together again (soon, I hope).  G
